Shahid Online – Love Untangled begins with Park Se Ri, a vibrant 19-year-old high school student struggling with her naturally curly hair, which makes her feel insecure. Se Ri’s life revolves around her crush on Kim Hyun, the popular boy at school, whom she believes would never notice her. Her obsession with straightening her hair to gain confidence becomes a symbol of the unrealistic pressures young people place on themselves for love and acceptance. Through Se Ri’s journey, Love Untangled highlights a relatable theme: true affection goes beyond physical appearances and societal expectations.

As Se Ri navigates her crush, a new student from Seoul, Han Yoon Seok, enters her life. Initially an observer of Se Ri’s attempts to capture Kim Hyun’s attention, Yoon Seok gradually becomes her closest confidant. Understanding her insecurities and emotional struggles better than anyone else. Their bond evolves subtly, revealing feelings that go beyond friendship. With the support of her best friend, Baek Seong Rae, Se Ri experiments with various strategies to win Kim Hyun’s heart. All while facing the quiet rivalry of Ko In Jeong, the seemingly perfect student. Love Untangled beautifully portrays how relationships can surprise us when we least expect it. And how sometimes the person who truly understands us is right beside us.
Beyond the surface of teenage romance, Love Untangled emphasizes important life lessons about self-acceptance, friendship, and the nature of genuine love. Set against a nostalgic 90s backdrop, the film captures youthful energy with colorful visuals, lively music, and heartfelt interactions. While some storylines, such as family dynamics or rivalry, could have been explored more deeply. The film excels in portraying the warmth of Se Ri’s friendships and her evolving connection with Yoon Seok. For fans of romantic comedies. Love Untangled offers a sweet and refreshing reminder that love is less about appearances and more about authenticity and mutual understanding.
